About Us

We are a husband-and-wife team of producers out of Salt Lake City, UT – USA.  Our names are James Louis Steed and Molly Rose Steed but when we combine our efforts, we become the dynamic duo of James and Molly Rose!  As an “About us” page should, this is a dynamic document designed to show where we happen to be at this specific moment.  Right now, upon writing this, in the latter part of 2021, here’s where we stand.

For the better part of a decade, we have been piecing together this production company in the hopes that it will one day allow us to both relieve ourselves our respective day jobs and move into a full-time production lifestyle.  During that time, we’ve made several changes to the overall plan of our company but our commitment to quality and process-driven production has been unwavering.  Over the coming months and years, it is our intention to let our own productions begin to sell our services, followed by the reviews of those that we work with as to our quality and passion for the work we do.

Though touting our accomplishments here, in written text, isn’t really how we expect to gain any sort of following and, therefore, paying gigs, I feel it’s worth going into just a little bit in this particular iteration of our about us page.

  • We do all of our own web development:

While this may seem unrelated, this portion of our company model has been a huge undertaking.  Learning to develop our own web pages has given us a lot of freedom and knowledge in how to better market our product and to give potential clients, as well as those who find our resources useful, what will hopefully be a smooth process in working with us.

  • We’ve produced what we feel to be a stellar pilot for our up-and-coming radio play, Rex Manley, Adventure Scientist:

On the surface, simply producing a radio play may not seem like much of an accomplishment but all of the work that was required for its production and the facilities we developed in order to be able to continue to produce it are a big part of our company plans moving forward.  For instance, we’ve built our own Foley Studio and Vocal booth for the future productions of these projects.  This combined with the knowledge gained simply by producing such a large undertaking will give us an edge in producing other textual and story telling projects in the future.

  • We’ve produced the music and the sound effects for a video game:

Now, we don’t currently offer our services to game developers because it is our feeling that, in order to really do games justice, it is important that we learn more about the process.  That is not to say that we wouldn’t take on a gaming project (particularly for the music) but it is in our plans of the future to get more involved in games and game development.

  • We’ve turned our tiny office into a full-fledged video production studio in order to put our processes and techniques to the test, as well as highlight what we’re capable of:

Behind the scenes of our little operation is hundreds of hours of carpentry, and ingenuity put to work to create a workspace designed to be as efficient as possible.  Our little studio is designed to be as productive as possible with the limited resources and space that we have.

This is just a summary of where we are now.  I’m not sure if this will come across the way we would like it to, as far as a story about us goes.  However, it is really up to our content to give people an idea of what we’re about.  In the coming months and years, we plan to produce and publish as much quality content as we possibly can.  It is our hope that by following our processes from conception to publication and promotions, while helping others out along the way, we’ll be able to find our way down the difficult path towards success in the often-cut-throat realm of media production.
